Monday, 15 November, Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of
Ukraine, met well-known Ukrainian press photographers - winners of the international contests who covered observance of human rights and freedoms, and development of democracy in the regions of Ukraine.
V. Lytvyn appreciated competence and public stance of the Ukrainian press photographers Hanna Voitenko, Stepan Rudyk and Vladyslav Musienko, and awarded valuable gifts to them.
Series of photo essays made by the press photographers received international recognition and evoked a positive response in the Ukrainian society, as they attracted public attention to the complex social problems of lonely elderly people and orphans, violence of the police to the football fans, difficult life in the remote mountain villages in the Carpathians.
The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine suggested that the press photographers created a photo album to demonstrate a complicated process of democratic development in Ukraine.
